Welcome to the wonderful world of Dew's Designs.  I'm a self taught woodworker and designer.  I usually build that which is needed or sometimes just build furniture dictated by the spirits that move me.  Although my true passion comes alive while at the lathe, a shop nearly full of woodworking tools and equipment open avenues for other "creations".  I hope you will enjoy browsing the pages of this blog and the unique items that come up from the sawdust.

My shop started off as a dilapidated 4 bay tractor shed with a dirt floor.  The sliding doors required an army of men to open them.  Although I did most of the renovations on the cheap as I could afford it, a work still in progress, I think it holds a little more charm today than it did when we acquired it.  But it is the joy it brings me and the creative ideas that come up from the sawdust that make it the special place it is for me.

For instance, when it comes to creative ideas, how about a garden bed with birdhouses that light up for night time reading?
The wires are hidden inside the headboard posts and the lamps use  simple 7W nightlight bulbs.
